We are hiring a Tax Manager for our valued client in the Twin Cities, who is a mid-size distribution company.
As Tax Manager, you will be responsible for:
Prepare complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns accurately and efficiently.
Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique tax situations and providing personalized solutions.
Review tax returns prepared by staff accountants and tax preparers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations, conducting research and analysis to assess the impact on clients and recommend appropriate actions.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in tax preparation and review processes.
Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and providing timely updates on tax-related matters.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of tax-related activities, prepare reports, and contribute to the development of client presentations and materials.
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and deadlines, keeping abreast of changes and proactively addressing any potential issues.
Who qualifies for the Tax Manager role?
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
CPA certification preferred
5+ years of strong team management and development experience
8+ years experience within Tax ( Business and Individual)
Experience working within Public Accounting Firms
Ability to work efficiently meet deadlines with accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
How much will you earn as the Controller?
Starting pay is between $100,000- $120,000
